For many years Rory Davies helped with the creation and distribution of Kirky News, a newsletter for the Kirkliston area.
The newsletter was produced every quarter, from issue 1 (2002) to issue 74 (Winter 2020).
In 2014 a booklet "Kirky Guide" was produced, listing business and organisations, snippets of local knowledge, and a map of the village.
In 20xx Rory created a website for Kirky News, where issues could be read as individual articles on multiple devices, rather than a PDF intended as a paper equivalent. He also intended it to be where articles for each issue could be created and the issue edited, but only Rory ever used this. For later issues he created an online version equivalent to the printed one, and also saved the paper-equivalent PDF on the website.
During the early part of the COVID pandemic (2019 - 2020) the website was the only possible way to distribute the newsletter.
Then in 2020 the committee (then just 4 people) decided that further issues were not required. And in 2024 Rory discontinued the small financial support needed for the website.
But in October 2024 he recovered digital (mostly PDF) versions of all the past issues (1-74), and the Kirky Guide, and saved them here.
